The Telephone Management Application (TMA) is a data collection and reporting Windows® based software package for use on a PC having the Microsoft® Windows XP® or Windows 2000® operating system. This application allows for the use of up to 8 modems to provide contact with the telephones in the system. These modems operate simultaneously to collect information from the
S.M.A.R.T. telephones. Access to TMA is secured through a key attached to the PC's USB port. The installed key limits access to certain features in order to provide secure access to the operational settings of the phones and the monitoring system. TMA has three user levels, System Administrator, User and Guest. The System Administrator has full access to
TMA, the User level has a more restricted access and the Guest access is view only.
A new feature of TMA allows users to view the health of the S.M.A.R.T. telephones "At A Glance" with visual indication through the GUI that a phone has a fault condition. In addition to visual indication, the System Administrator will hear an audio alert (PC sound card required). Telephones with a fault exception will appear with a yellow ‘X’ and inactive phones will display a red ‘X’. This feature is completely customer configurable. There are several different types of reports in
TMA, which are effectively collected during maintenance calls. The following are examples of the specific reports:
- User Call Report
- Maintenance Call Report
- Call-In Report
- Polling and Call-In Exceptions Reports
TMA performs automatic poll maintenance checks on a user adjustable schedule. During the poll maintenance call, the telephone reports the state of its sensors and faults to
TMA. The polling is user configurable, and performs continuous (non-stop) poll calling, once a day polling, or one time per week. The information gathered by TMA stores this health information in the active database. TMA allows the System Administrator to remotely adjust setting in the telephones. This is possible as a part of a telephone line connection between TMA PC and the phone being updated.
